Meet the Barcelona Team

At Hostmaker, we pride ourselves on hiring the best and brightest pigeons from around the world meaning that in whatever way we service your home, we have a terrific team of people behind it. This month, we’re saying ¡Hola! to our stupendous Spanish team over in Barcelona, where the Hostmaker office is celebrating its second birthday this month!

Inês Nobre

Former consultancy whiz and startup veteran. Operations Manager at Hostmaker since August 2016

“I love that feeling that every day is a new and different challenge. I’m responsible for making sure that apartments are cleaned to our standards, guests are being warmly welcomed on time and their needs are being taken care of. What makes me really happy is when, after a tough day, we receive a really good feedback that makes us smile – that is why we do what we do!”

One great Barcelona tip: make sure you go up to Bunkers del Carmel and enjoy the sunrise with the most amazing view of the city!

My favourite Hostmaker home: Eduardo’s luxurious home in Gracia – I love the decoration, the lovely terrace where you can have breakfast and the neighbourhood – Gracia is only the best place in Barcelona!

Federica Veronesi

Former superstar at Airbnb. Guest Experience at Hostmaker since March 2016

“I love my job because I have direct contact with our guests.  I like to make sure that they have the best experience possible in Barcelona, and they don’t feel tourists while they are, but locals!”

One great Barcelona tip: don’t miss a stroll and a mojito in one of the Barcelona beach bars on a Sunday afternoon!

My favourite Hostmaker home: Javier’s home in Poble Sec. I love its design and personality, and the area is full of cool bars and restaurants!

Daniella Dasso

Design and Innovation master (literally!). Designer at Hostmaker since November 2016

“Having the chance to collaborate with the different teams in the cities and be given the freedom to structure my job is something I value a lot. We are a very young and extremely international team, full of ideas, energy and good (and sometimes bad) jokes. It’s fun, it’s challenging, but for sure, it’s exciting”

One great Barcelona tip: The best way to discover the city is by walking it and getting lost in its narrow old streets. Although my favourite neighbourhood is Gracia, I think there is something quite magical in walking around El Born. Who wouldn’t enjoy getting lost if the path takes you to a 14th Century Gothic-style fishermen church, or to Paradiso’s Pastrami or Gelateria Gocce di Latte.

My favourite Hostmaker home: This Hostmaker-designed apartment in Hospitalet. We manage the whole block of 10 flats, but this is my favourite. The living room is beautiful and cozy and the patio is simply amazing. It really does look like a house taken out from a Pinterest board, and the best part is that this was our first big design project in Barcelona!

Beatriz Ribeiro

Former world traveller and airline sales strategist. Business Development Manager at Hostmaker since April 2016

“Meeting new people everyday, getting into their houses, you never know what to expect. This uncertainty of it is what makes the work fun. I believe in what we sell so that makes everything easier.”
One great Barcelona tip: have some local-favourite vermuts and tapas on top of the mountains (either Tibidabo, Parc Guell or Bunkers del Carmel), appreciating the mesmerizing views.

My favourite Hostmaker home: Thomas’ apartment in the Poble Sec. It’s stylish, laid back but at the same time carefully designed, and in one of my favourite neighbourhoods!

Alex Casablancas

Luxury hotel industry savant. Business Developer at Hostmaker since July 2016

“One of the aspects I like about developing the business means we get to meet excited new hosts for the first time, tell them all about Hostmaker and bring them onboard. All of this definitely leads to being more responsible, reliable, versatile and willing to explore more everyday so as to improve.”

One great Barcelona tip: Walk around and mingle with the locals in the Eixample. The architecture of this neighbourhood is beautiful and is full of traditional bars which will serve you a nice cold beer at practically anytime of the day!

My favourite Hostmaker home: Elisenda’s 2 bedroom pad! It really gives you a feel of what Barcelona is about. Design-packed and located in a quiet area, it is a perfect spot for those looking to stay away from big crowds.

Iolanda Maia

Once a big shot in a bank. Account Manager and Operations Coordinator at Hostmaker since July 2016

“Making sure we take care of our homes, and that the hosts feel that we care of them is a big challenge but rewarding!”

One great Barcelona tip: The feeling of the city is so much about walking on the streets appreciating the small shops, bars, restaurants and the nice architecture, different from neighbourhood to neighbourhood!

My favourite Hostmaker home: I like how modern and clean and spacious it is and the kitchen is fit for a feast!

Miquel Llansana

Certified international business economist. Business Developer at Hostmaker since January 2017

“I like to establish contact with other companies that can help us grow, as well as connecting the right dots to make things happen.”

One great Barcelona tip: Walk through Carretera de les Aigües, located in the upper-part of Barcelona, while enjoying the awesome views of the city.

My favourite Hostmaker home: Alvaro’s place next to Fira de Barcelona combines flat lines and simplicity with functionality and peacefullness.

Sara Londoño

Hospitality and tourism expert. Business Developer at Hostmaker since January 2017

“As part of the business development team, we are in charge of signing on new hosts, which means meeting new people, travelling around the city and expecting a different day every day”

One great Barcelona tip: In the summer, Casa Blava is the only place to be!

My favourite Hostmaker home: Rachel’s home near Paseo de Gracia. It’s big, has a great garden, full of light, and has beautiful tiling – what more could you ask for?
